What should I wear to pole dance class?

Accepted Answer

Intro to Pole and Pole Dance Level 1: We suggest wearing shorts or pants that can be rolled up to expose the backs of your knees. This exposure is important for gripping the pole effectively. Feel free to bring extra layers for warming up at the start of class. Pole Level 2 & Intermediate Level Classes: As you progress to more advanced pole dance classes, you'll need fitted shorts and a sports bra to maximize skin exposure for better pole grip. Aerial Arts (Lyra/Hoop & Hammock Yoga): To avoid friction burns from the fabric or hoop in aerial classes, we suggest wearing tight-fitting attire that covers the back of your knees, torso and arms.

Should I wear pole dance heels to class?

Accepted Answer

No heels required for Intro to Pole through Intermediate Level Classes. For Heels Flow Choreo Classes: You can wear pole dance heels, though it's not required — socks are an alternative option.

Question 3

I'm brand new to pole dancing & aerial dance. Is dance experience required?

Accepted Answer

You don't need any pole dance or aerial arts background to participate in a class. If you're new to Pole, Hoop, or Hammock Yoga, make sure to enroll in an INTRO class first. We'll cover all the basics you need to advance, and your instructor will help you determine when to progress to the next level.

Question 4

I don't have upper body strength. Will that be an issue?

It won't pose an issue. Our focus is on assisting you in developing strength and body awareness, which will improve with time as you attend classes. If you're new to Pole dance, Aerial Hoop, or Hammock yoga, we suggest beginning with our INTRO classes and take Flexibility classes.

Do you offer private lessons?

We offer private group or private one-on-one pole dance or aerial arts lessons if you don't feel comfortable joining a group class. To inquire, simply give us a shout on email at admin@poleflowstudioyyc.ca

Can I plan a bachelorette or birthday party at the studio?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely — we love hosting private parties! Whether it's a bachelorette, birthday, or girls' night, we'll teach your group an easy pole dance choreography and make sure everyone has an unforgettable time. Packages start from $175. Email admin@poleflowstudioyyc.ca to book.

Question 7

What else should I know before coming to class?

Accepted Answer

Avoid applying lotions or oils on the day of your pole dance class. Sweating can cause these substances to resurface on your skin, making it harder to grip the pole safely. Please leave jewelry at home — it can damage equipment and poses a safety risk on aerial apparatuses.

Question 8

What is your cancellation and no-show policy?

Accepted Answer

Class cancellations require 12 hours' notice or you lose the class credit. No-shows result in loss of the class credit plus an $18.00 no-show fee (applies to all clients). Late arrivals over 10 minutes may be denied entry with no refund.

Question 9

How do I cancel my membership?

Accepted Answer

All memberships are auto-renewing. Monthly memberships require 2 months' written notice to cancel. Weekly and Bi-Weekly memberships have a minimum 6-month term and require 1 month's written notice after the term to cancel. All requests must be submitted by email to admin@poleflowstudioyyc.ca.
